Today’s radio show is made of excerpts from two Norouz events in London. One was the politically charged Norouz -Nowar event which featured Iranian rapper Hitchkas, and the other was set inside an art gallery where a talk on the origins of Norouz laid waste to the idea that the festival began in Zoarastrian times or that is is in fact Persian. Dr Khodadad Rezakhani reveals how the festival predates Persian identity and empire.
