Monday after next we’ll be talking to Roger Tagg, author of the legendary book (now out of print) Travels With a Paykan. The book is a travelogue complete with fold-out charts, written and literally mapped out on the road by Roger and his wife (pictured on the front cover in their car) during the 70s in Iran.
There’s also time in the show to sample Shafinury‘s music, which at times hits the majestic here, wouldn’t you agree? Inspired by controversial modernist poet and iconoclast Forugh Farrokhzad’s poetry, the song by the artist once releasing as Tehranosaurus is really something.

I suppose I should have answered months ago. Yes I have many photographs of Iran. I also travelled extensively especially along the Caspian and as far as Asadabad.
That is very cool! Have you any photos from your time there? If so, share please!
I suppose I should elaborate. I was in Iran between 1976 and 1978 and used this magnificient travel guide ‘Travels in a Peykan’ to visit the surroudings of Tehran. I actually contacted Roger some years ago.
I have a copy of Travel in a Paikan.
