This Tehran-based artist says of humanity:
“Human beings are very complicated. Although they have a vast area of free will, they are in a constant struggle with mental ideas and the truth within them. A person that is unknown and foreign to his own creations. To achieve some peace, every once in a while, is hanging on to signs of nature so he can show signs of his forgotten inner self to others.”
Beautiful! Shila Kalamian was one of 28 other Iranian women artists in Masques of Shahrazade an exhibition in London, a show we covered on Six Pillars to Persia in 2009, and has been going from strength to strength since.
