The Parvin E’tesami Festival, Tehran February 19-22nd, 2013 focuses on ‘women’s role in family economy’. The 7th national (but only 3rd international) E’tesami festival, named as it is after a famous female poet from the first half of the 20th century, will be promoting women in the film industry. According to organizers, the annual event has so far hosted more than 800 female filmmakers and cultural activists so far and presented 1100 films in all.
Some 70 documentaries, short films and feature-length productions were screened in the International section last year. The films represented countries such as Finland, US, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Norway, Switzerland, Canada, Poland and more.
Organized by the Iranian Supporting House for Women Artists, the event presents competing films in Iranian Cinema and the International Competition sections.
