This 2012 album Annihilation holds your interest with its quirky composition and brushes with electronica. The music is formal enough however to retain elements of traditional Persian music and showcase the talent of Khavajiyan as a guitarist.
This well-considered album by Maziyar Khavajiyan was released digitally on Mahriz Recordings, which stems from Mahriz Mehr Institute of Culture & Art in Tehran, but of whom as a label, there’s not really much out there yet on the net in English.
Released in May 2013 the album is backdated to 2004.
Get Maziyar Khavajiyan on Amazon, Juno or iTunes…but don’t expect much info on the artist though, he too seems a bit of a digital hermit, which is a shame because we’d like to know more about this innovator.
