This musical evening includes a talk by Giles Duley, humanitarian photographer who became a triple amputee after having stepped on an IED whilst embedded with the US army in Afghanistan. Giles chose to leave his career in fashion photography to bring attention to the plight of people whose stories remained untold. A concert of Afghan beats by Veronica Doubleday and John Baily, who are leading academics of Afghan music and stunning musicians. Veronica and John have been deeply committed to the music of Afghanistan since starting their ethno-musicological research in Herat, Western Afghanistan in 1973.
