A Gentler Structure for Life – Finnish Exhibition in Tehran

The show opened at the Iranian Artists´ Forum in Tehran on the 12 February 2014 and is the first time works from different periods of world famous Finnish Architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) are displayed in Iran. The photo exhibition has been put together by Finnish photographer Ms. Maija Holma.

Pictures of Finnish urban spaces and exemplary architecture, all photos by Assistant Professor of Urban Design, Mr. Ehsan Ranjbar of Tarbiat Modares University and Ms. Najmeh Motalaei, of University of Applied Science, Tehran, will also be displayed at the exhibition along with pieces of Alvar Aalto´s furniture, modern Finnish glass and textiles as wall hangings. The exhibition states that it presents two points of interest; an Iranian and a Finnish take on modern Finnish architecture and urban design.

In connection with the exhibition, a seminar on modern Finnish architecture is scheduled for the Association of Iranian architects.
